Temporary on hold

To all my wonderful clients, I have decided to put my machine quilting service on hold, for now. However, if you are really in need of getting your quilt machine quilted and cannot find an alternative, please reach out to me. I might be able to help you out if I can fit the quilting into my current schedule.

Thanks very much for your support, up to this point in time. I hope to re-open my quilting service some years further down the track. I will keep you posted.

Five Point Star - Crochet

My latest small project. Thanks to an image on Pinterest for the idea. I learnt to crochet at the age of 6, so it's relatively easy to work out the pattern from just looking at the photo.

On another note, I'm not updating my blog as often as I used to do as I found myself spending too much time on devices instead of spending time enjoying working on my craft projects. So, now there is more time spent on finishing off big and small projects, and cooking yummy dishes and baking. :-)

Hexagon blanket - Finished

The hexagon blanket I was working on was finished and washed a little while ago. It is now in use. :-) I placed a DVD case in the photo to give an idea for its size.... There is not really a pattern for this blanket. But I'm sure there are several patterns that look similar to it floating around on the internet. I think the combination of colours is what makes this blanket look attractive, and I love it, of course. xx

I'm around as I have always been. :-)

Happy New Year 2018.

I know it IS long overdue with updating my blog. A few crafty friends were enquiring about my well-being and my updating of the blog.... I'm still here and around as I have always been since the last update in September 2016, which was ages ago.! I just didn't get around to write and update my blog. I have been keeping very busy, mostly catching up with what I was missing out on while focusing on my (other) professional work. There are certainly a lot of laughs over cups of tea and coffee involved in the process (of the 'catch up'). :-) I enjoy having my HOT cups of tea and coffee, nowadays. Having good long sleep on a regular basis definitely a plus in many ways. Patchwork, quilting and several other craft projects are very much at the centre of my spared time as I'm continuously busying myself with my long arm machine quilting service. Here I was, at a monthly social craft outing last Saturday, enjoying my cup of coffee and working on a crochet hexagon blanket - only 8 more rows to go and it's done. :-) .... For those who haven't seen me in a while, I got my hair cut short before Christmas 2016, after 20 years of having it long, almost down to my waistline. And, in case someone is wondering, life is still very much full of wonders when it comes to travelling. I don't seem to be able to stay put for too long.!

Quilting at Mount Colah

After a long 'pause', my quilting service will resume on Friday 14th October 2016. I couldn't be in two places at one time.... In all the places that I have been and will be until early October, there isn't a wonderful long-arm quilting machine like mine (Gammill Statler).

I look forward to providing my quilting service to my returning and new clients from the middle of October 2016 onwards. The quilting fees remain unchanged.

On another note, I will also be able to update my blog more regularly, as I have done in the past. It's the plan and, here, I'm hoping. :-)

Pleased....

I'm always pleased to see quilts that I quilted hung at the Sydney Quilt Show. This year, in an hour that I was walking around and admiring all the quilts, I saw the quilt by Heather. A little while later, by chance, I bumped into Heather. It was the first time that I  have met her in person after our several correspondence, and a number of quilts that I have quilted for her, up to this point in time. This is because Heather lives in Brisbane and I'm in Sydney. We got along very well and had a fun time at the Show.

Happy Recipient (of My Poncho)

At the time I was knitting the poncho, it was suggested to me that I should make it a little bigger, and I took up the advice by adding an extra row. With this, I ran out of the variegated wool and had to wait for 2 winters for the same coloured wool to reappear in the shop. I finally finished the poncho during last year summer (December 2015). The finished poncho, however, turns out to be too big and too long for my liking.... This weekend, the weather in Sydney is freezing cold and my neighbour, Haleh, kindly invited me over for a cup of tea. I had a quick think about it and decided to bring along the poncho with me to give to her as a gift. It fits her nicely and she was so delighted to receive my hand knitted poncho in her favourite colours. I enjoyed the process of making it, and am so happy to have found someone who appreciates and will be making use of the poncho.... I have started to knit another poncho again, in the size that I think would fit me. It will be a long while before I finish it, I think, considering all the projects that are currently 'in progress'. :-)
